beautfiful presentation, simple preparation.  not a nose in the world that doesn't get tickled by a waft of cinnamon apple swirling through a kitchen.

the kinda smells that take you back to a place you've maybe never been.  some country kitchen, a fat grandma in an apron, and baked goods on a window sill.

works as a starter, or a finisher, to warm your soul on a chilly night.

INGREDIENTS

1 large green apple
1 medium butternut squash
1 tablespoon of butter
1 tablespoon raw honey
2 sticks cinnamon
a few grates of fresh nutmeg

Directions

melt the butter over very low heat (no microwave--cause that shit's crazy). slice the apple and the squash into half moons ov similar sizes. alternate the half moons--one squash one apple--into a baking dish, and drizzle with raw honey and melted butter. grate fresh cinnamon and nutmeg on top.

bake in the oven until everything is fork tender--about a half hour--and serve.
