i couldn’t give a stronger recommendation than to visit agriturismo locanda del gallo.  i wish i had some sort of ihoc rating system i could utilize to describe its greatness.  ebert would excavate siskel to find enough thumbs to express his like.  a truly unforgettable mecca of nature and peace.  this is a shot on our (overcast) approach to the gallo.  the house and jah’s green hills.  nothing else. within ten minutes of arriving we canceled the next hotel and doubled our visit at the gallo. serene. stunning. tranquil. blissful.
one of the highlights, which number in the many, was chef jimmy. a sri lankan transplant cooking local traditions and joining us after each meal for a (not usually) brief stop-and-chat/comedy session. personal touches like this characterize your stay.
the two pictures below are of chef jimmy grabbing some ingredients from the garden. one went unnoticed, but for the other, he saw my lens. you guess which is which to gather an idea of the kind of character we’re dealing with here.

other highlights:  tree engulfed yoga studio perched on a cliff, underground relaxation lair with steam shower and massage rooms, infinity pool lined with solar panels,  organic olive grove, and hedgerow upon hedgerow of rosemary and wild mint seasoning your every breath.
