sore farmer goes to sleep

the intimate details are almost uncountable.  things that sound like they might be simple—say, plant a seed—are consumed in a swirling rabbit hole of particularities, preparations, and considerations.  not to mention, hours of man labor in advance of said planting, and hours upon hours of upkeep labor yet to come.

almost each hour of the day I find myself taking on challenges and actions that are completely new to me.  it’s both stimulating and draining at the same time.  we spent eleven long hours in the field today preparing beds for tomorrow’s planting, as well as continuing to put garlic, onions, and leeks into the ground. 

we’re working hard, and our minds and bodies are sore both.  tonight, we’ll all sleep easy the way you can only do when you put in a day like today.  huge efforts, across the board, and it feels great.
