farmapalooza/farmalarmadingdong/party on the moon
it’s five thirty on a dark Sunday morning and it’s time to get to work. the restaurant is closed for memorial day, so technically, it isn’t a work thang, per se, but on memorial day, in the summer I know, a party is as natural as the next breath. and so on this Sunday morning, we got to work.
you know how when you have company coming over, and you do a quick sweep? put the pillows back to the side of the couch? wash the three mugs in the sink, tie the curtains back, and put away the hash pipe?
on a farm, it’s a little more difficult.
jamming an entire day of farm work into the morning before company arrives, while simultaneously preparing for an all day, two band, twelve chicken bash, may have been an aggressive choice—you know, in retrospect. but when it was all said and done, the day was a total blast. amazing food and equally amazing music highlighted a scorcher of a day at the backyard moon.
friends and family gathered and enjoyed the fruits of our labors. never before, has it been so real.

the video is of our new friends homegrown revival performing under the tent at the backyard moon. ihoc is really bummed to say that footage of our first act, the darnell boys, is a shaky, blair-witch-esque romp around the grounds, which incites nausea in the viewer. they too, however, were fantastic.
thanks to everyone who came and made the day so special.
